Last Day of Summer 15th Year Anniversary Release

Last Day of Summer 15 year Anniversary Release

We are very proud to announce that arthouse vinyl specialists H42 Records will be presenting the 15th Year Anniversary of our 2009 split collaboration Last Day of Summer.

The album is the creation and merging of SOAC and Treasure Cat which were led by our close friend Will Mecum and morphed from the ashes of Karma to Burn in 2003 forming a blend of driving rock hooks and sonic riffs to create a supercharged rock experience.

The album being both a split and collaboration was the first of its kind when released.

H42 Records present Last Day of Summer on double 2x12” with limited colour variations, 2xCD featuring new artwork from Alex von Welding and for the first time the original demos from the Alpha Cat and Sons of Alpha Centauri sessions, this is exclusive to this limited release.  There are some limited edition packages exclusive to the SOAC Bandcamp with several vinyl colour variations, silkscreened poster art and exclusive content.

Pre-sale starts 22 September 2024 from our Bandcamp and H42 Records

Exile On Mainstream records to release SOAC third album Push

This album marks our first collaboration with musicians from two of the biggest and most respected bands in the Sacramento music community; Jonah Matranga (Far, Gratitude) provides vocals for the whole album and Mitch Wheeler (Will Haven) shares drums with original member Stevie B.

Exile On Mainstream will proudly release Push on 27 August.

More details soon… Push the Weight.

Over the past 10 years Karma to Burn and Sons of Alpha Centauri have engaged on an audio assault by ram raiding riff after riff into the instrumental stoner stratosphere. This cosmic mission commenced on star date 2007 when members of each band worked together on a project entitled 'Alpha Cat' resulting in the split collaboration album 'Last Day of Summer' released on Underdogma Records in 2009.

When the KTB reunion was fully confirmed then the floodgates opened and over the course of five years 3 split vinyls followed from both bands including the first of the DesertFest vinyl releases and multiple shows across the UK.

2017 - Phase II Begins

Sons of Alpha Centauri would like to reflect on 2016 and say thank you for all your support. We would also like to thank all those who attended our performance with Yawning Man in London.

New Year's Day 2017 saw the launch of our next generation website along with our new band logo. The rebuilt version has been enhanced for mobile browsing and has integrated technologies such as YouTube and SongKick which make it the best place to keep up-to-date with SOAC. The website is the first of many updates and upgrades to the SOAC project.

2016 has seen the band committed to the production and recording of the second album. In advance of the new album we have been working with some excellent artists on some special exclusive and highly limited musical releases to bridge the eponymous and second album releases.

The build towards the second album has started… and after 10 years the album sleepers have awoken and Phase II begins!
